And It’s A Good One!
Every year millions of family pets are lost forever because they don’t have a lifeline home; a simple piece of technology the size of a grain of rice that will speak for them when they are lost or injured and unable to return home.

FROM THE MICROCHIP USA FOUNDER…
This is me, Anita Barron, at the age of seven with my cat Missy. My love for animals started early and was nurtured by parents and grandparents that taught me to love and care for all animals.
In 2007 I started the non-profit Pet Alliance to create programs to support the animal rescue community. In 2008 Pet Alliance launched Spay Ohio to bring low cost spay/neuter to every resident of Ohio and quickly followed-up it up with a companion project, MicroChip Ohio, to return lost Ohio pets to their guardians.
In 2009 I broadened by vision by launching MicroChip USA to make sure cost is not an option in ensuring every lost pet in America is returned to their guardian. In 2010 we’re adding an affiliate program to MicroChip USA to give rescuers and animal advocates the chance to earn income pursuing their passion.

I’ve Seen the Dark Side…
And Have Come to Know the Solution
I grew up in Southwest Georgia, where virtually every dog, and most cat, spent their days (and nights) outside making more dogs and cats. My mother instilled in me a love for animals. My first true friend was my childhood kitty Missy.
I watched closely as my Mother demonstrated true guardianship for all animals. She provided care for not only our animals, but those abandoned by their guardians or strays within our community, making sure they did not add to the ever exploding population of homeless animals.
I’ve seen what happens when animals are allowed to reproduce without restraint or are lost without a way to return home. Most lead a life of loneliness, pain and starvation. But I also had a good mentor and role model for the solution, one that demonstrated through action what could be accomplished; one animal at a time.
The Seed is Planted
Fast forward to the 21st century (did you really think I was going to tell you how old I am?). My childhood love for animals turned into a passion and I find myself spending a significant amount of time volunteering for local pet organizations.
My quest for knowledge and insight tool me to Memphis, TN for the 2006 Spay Neuter Conference hosted by Spay USA. Here I met Esther Mechler, the founder of Spay USA and an early visionary in the spay/neuter movement. Esther shared her vision for state-based low-cost spay/neuter referral organizations; it seemed like she was talking directly to me. I left the conference committed to supporting the guardians and pets of Ohio in this way.
There Is Hope
In 2007 I started my non-profit Pet Alliance and in January 2008 the Board of Directors supported my plan to launch Spay Ohio.
Spay Ohio is committed to bringing low-cost spay/neuter resources in every community in Ohio. We’re fortunate to have the support of vets, clinics, rescues and shelters in Ohio, but…
The Journey is Far From Over
Millions of family pets are put down in shelters and rescues every year because they do not have a microchip. Pet microchips are about the size of a piece of rice and when registered, tell the shelters and rescues how to contact the animal’s guardian. They’re safe, convenient and now they’re low-cost through the MicroChip USA program.
Keep your pets safe and sleep soundly at night knowing your animals will be returned safe and sound if they were to ever get lost by having a low-cost MicroChjp USA chip implanted today.
You can help us achieve our goal of returning 1,000,000 lost pets to their guardians by 2020. Click the link below to get your low-cost microchip now!

P.S. My husband Rick and I have 6 cats – Sphinx, Beaver, Wolly, Simba, Misty an Diva. If I could save them all I’d surely try, but unfortunately I’m not physically able to do so. Collectively, we can and will!! Send us an email at earn@MicroChipUSA.org if you're interested in earning money referring people to MicroChip USA and we'll let you know when the program is ready.
